Over the past few weekends, we’ve gotten out and explored a little.
After a girls’ night out and little sleep, Brent decided it was a really great day for a hike! I wasn’t as thrilled, but it turned out to be a nice day trip. We drove about 1 hour (of which I got to nap!) towards the Dandenong mountains which are to the east of Melbourne. Somehow we got the kids to hike for about 2 hours…
Yep, those are the best pictures that I got of Greyson… showcasing his personality.
You’ve probably heard me complain a bit about the weather. It’s very unpredictable here, and it’s been an usually cold and wet year since we moved here, until it turned to fall. March 1st was the first day of fall, and we’ve had beautiful, consistent weather for a few weeks now. People keep saying that the seasons keep coming later and later. Since our last summer was 2015, I couldn’t wait any longer! However, the day the we finally decided to drive down to the peninsula to the beach to play and for Brent to surf, it was cold and windy. We did have lunch at a brewery, and I decided to take the scenic drive back. We happened to drive through Aurthur’s Seat and got to see some beautiful sights of the coastline. The day turned nice for the afternoon drive back, so the drive along the coast was filled with views of bright blue water. The kids got to nap which was even better!
Two weekends, we went for dinner with some friends that we’ve met who are parents from Isla’s class. The one couple is also in pharma and moving to the States so we had a farewell dinner with them. Casually during conversation, our other friends asked if we were available on Monday to help them make wine. (It was a holiday- Labour Day). We were, so we spent the day picking 250 kg of grapes off the stems. That’s about 550 lbs. It took us about 6 hours, and we were all a little achy from being hunched over while picking them. It was getting late, and we needed to get the kids to bed so we missed the part of mashing the grapes with your feet. The kids had a blast playing the entire day together.

Love the pic of Greyson with his arms crossed and the one of isla by herself-beautiful like her mama.
