We are very pleased with Isla’s school and how much they inspire creativity in the children. Isla’s very interested in drawing, painting and writing lately.
A few months ago, they read the book “Alexander’s Outing” by Pamela Allen. If you have six minutes and are interested in hearing it for context, then here it is: Alexander’s Outing by Pamela Allen. I’m not sure if it’s a popular book in the US as the author is from New Zealand and the duck is from Sydney!
Reading this book in class inspired Isla and four other classmates to want to write a another story about Alexander. And so, they embarked on this special project.
Upon completion, the students got to present their work to the remainder of the class and all the parents one evening. The teacher put together this impressive video to introduce the project and shared it with us that night…
The Making of the Book: Alexander’s Family
Here is the group presenting their work to the parents. You may notice one additional person who thought he was involved! 😊
This is Isla’s page below.
I’m glad that we got a copy of the book. Isla is so very proud of it as we are too.
{Ok, I must get packing now!}
