It’s been a while since I’ve posted things related to living in Australia (let alone posting at all!). So, I thought I’d share this little tidbit…
It’s now spring as of September 1st, and it’s now also magpie swooping season.
Magpie birds are typical birds that live all over most of Australia. We see them daily on our walks to school, in our backyard, at the park, etc. But at this time of year, it is mating season, and they can become very aggressive to protect their nests.
On Friday, I must have parked to close to a nest. As I waited in the car for the kids to finish French class, a magpie keep flying onto the car and circling it. After class, the kids were playing the yard of the school and the same magpie would not stop circling around us. So I asked one of the other Australian mothers about them being aggressive at this time of year, and she quickly replied, “Yes! I once was knocked out by one as a child.”
Another friend shared this news story with us that just aired this week.
So, I guess we’ll be paying a bit more attention to their whereabouts over the next couple of weeks!

Looking forward to seeing you both at Ryan’s wedding on Dec. 2nd. I know Todd & Kristy sure are!!
Take care and see you in 3 months. 😍😍😍
